Simple Steps to Treat Recurring Yeast Infections

Yeast infections or Candidasis are easily cured by certain drugs and precautions as given by a doctor. But if the infection keeps on returning to you even after the treatment and you have had this infection 4-5 times a year, then you are suffering from recurring yeast infection.

Causes of Recurring Yeast Infections

The major cause of recurring yeast infections in women is the use of birth control pills. A diet containing high sugar and caffeine is other contributing factor to this infection. Excessive moisture around the vaginal area which is hard to control causes this problem. This infection usually attacks people with low immunity. So people suffering from HIV infection are commonly found suffering from recurring thrush.

Treatment for Recurring Yeast Infections

Here are few things that you need to take care about in your daily routine to control recurring yeast infections:

Keep yourself dry and free from moisture as yeasts thrive in moist environment. Dry your genitals thoroughly after every bath. Avoid wearing tight fitting undergarments. Wear loose cotton undergarments and see to it that your crotch is free from sweat.

If you are using strong perfumes and harsh soaps, immediately stop using them. They cause skin blistering and destabilize the pH level which increases the fungal growth. Avoid using douches for cleansing purposes. Take care that you do not share your towels with anyone as it might transmit the infection to others.

Try to avoid the use of birth control pills. Birth control pills are found to be boosting the fungal growth somehow. Also contraceptive sponges increase the yeast infection. If possible, try to adopt other contraception methods like diaphragm, condoms and cervical caps.

If you are sexually active, get your partner checked for the yeast infection. This infection easily spreads through sexual contact which is a direct means of spreading. The symptoms of this infection in men are not easily detected. So, sometimes it happens that a woman gets free from infection but contracts it again back from her partner who is not yet aware of his infected state. This cycle goes on and finally this recurring yeast infection leads to some serious diseased state.

Wash your hands and organs properly after sex. If you both are willing to have sex while the treatment is still going on, prefer to use a condom. Also while choosing a condom you must ensure that any of the material used in the lubricant is not harmful to your infected state.

Wash your clothes with hot water and be careful that you do not share them. Keep yourself clean and wash your hands at regular intervals. After your bath, clean the bathroom with hot water and to be extra safe, add some white vinegar in the water. Vinegar helps killing the harmful bacteria and yeast thriving in your bathroom.

Keep yourself stress free and your mind at peace and follow the above given guidelines to cure yeast infections.
