Surveys show that nearly 70% woman suffers from yeast infection once in their life and more than 40% of them suffer from it more than once. Other related surveys have shown that about 40-50% of men suffer from yeast infection and the period of this infection, especially penile yeast infection, is found to be a little longer than women.
This excess period of infection duration in men is attributed to late detection of the infection. Symptoms of penis yeast infection, the most common yeast infection in men, are not easily determined because of their location and relatively less severity.
However, frequency of these infections is found higher in women. Higher level of stress and tension in cancer patients releases chemicals in their body which impedes growth of good bacteria and disturbs yeast to bacteria ratio.
Diabetics and HIV patients and people with other similar immunity weakening diseases have higher tendency to contract yeast infection as yeast thrives on sugar and low immunity thrives their survival in body.
